The Civil Service Institute was founded on 14th July 2018. For the first time, budgetary provision was made for such an institution that would meet the needs of aspirants to the civil services. The Institute will be under the administrative control of the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Dr.Alexandar Jacob,IPS(Rtd) is functioning as the honorary director of the Institute. It is a pioneering effort among universities in Kerala to include aspirants from the most marginalized sections of society, not only in terms of resources offered, but also in terms of non-formal character.

A qualifying exam is conducting at the State-level to shortlist candidates, who will enrol for the coaching programme. Under the guidance of Expert panel, comprising previous toppers of UPSC exam, faculty members of the varsity and senior bureaucrats. Civil Service Institute set up state-of-the-art facilities that will help learners strengthen their preparations for the civil services exam.

Streamlined the programmes as per the direction of Advisory Council &Executive Committee of Civil Service Institute. Training will be provided on how to make it big in the main examination. A teaching method focusing on a comprehensive and intelligent learning process will be chalked out by the experts. The faculty members will lead mock-interview sessions, besides training the aspirants on stepping up their confidence levels while facing an interview board.
